HYBRID Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect

  • Delaware Township Community Center 9094 East 131st Street Fishers, IN, 46038 United States (map)

Darkness to Light’s Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect® teaches participants how to spot signs of possible child abuse and neglect, and how to respond as a mandated reporter.

Mandated reporter laws are different in each state, for example, being a mandated reporter in Texas may be different than being a mandated reporter in California. Teaching definitions and indicators of sexual abuse, physical abuse, emotional abuse, and neglect, Darkness to Light’s mandated reporter training also teaches you about the legal obligations as a mandated reporter defined by your state. This training is intended for educators, childcare workers and other youth-serving professionals but is broad enough for parents and caregivers, faith center staff, and youth serving organizations to benefit.

This training is funded by grants obtained by the Indiana Center for Prevention of Youth Abuse and Suicide and these funds are specific to Indiana residents. Therefore we ask that people who live outside of Indiana check Darkness to Light's website (D2L.org) to find a training in their area.

This event is HYBRID. Registrants will be asked to choose virtual or in-person. The training link and materials will be send to virtual participants prior to the training. The location for in-person participants is the Delaware Township Community Center.
