Lead Education Specialist

Work with students of all ages and backgrounds.  Deliver programming as assigned by the Director of Programs.  This role is responsible for on-site coordination with school liaison and oversight of Talk Time facilitation. Programs are provided in-person within a 50-mile radius of Carmel.

Responsibilities:

  • Present various programs to children and youth in schools at different grade levels, as well as to adults.

  • Interact with teachers, school staff, and children in a professional, but caring manner. All presentations are scheduled within normal school hours, generally 7am-2pm during the school year. 

  • Facilitate and oversee Talk Time Sessions.

  • Provide supervision to Child Safety Education Specialists onsite as needed.

  • Collect and submit program evaluations.

  • Participate in on-going training to ensure that the program is being presented with fidelity. 

  • Provide own transportation to and from all contracted presentations. 

  • Reports to the Director of Programs. 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in education, counseling, social work, psychology, or a related field preferred; or a combination of experience, education, and/or training.

Skills:

  • Ability to work with and interact well with children, good presentation skills, effective communication skills with school representatives. 

  • Available and reliable to work when scheduled. 

  • Organization, preparedness, and communication with other program staff including the Program Coordinator and Program Support Specialist.

  • Training and coaching will be provided.

 Resume must include a minimum of three references; one must be a professional reference.

Child Safety Education Specialist

Work with students of all ages and backgrounds to ensure that all students are provided the skills and tools to keep themselves safe.

  • Present child abuse prevention curriculum to children and youth in schools, primarily in Hamilton, Boone and Marion counties, but also including other Central Indiana counties such as Hancock, Hendricks, Madison, and Tipton counties. 

  • Interact with teachers, school staff, and children in a professional, but caring manner. All presentations are scheduled within normal school hours, generally 7am-2pm during the school year. 

  • Participate in on-going training to ensure that the program is being presented with fidelity. 

  • Provide own transportation to and from all contracted presentations. 

  • Reports to the Director of Programs.
