Navigating Digital Safety with Tweens and Teens

  • ONLINE United States (map)

Created by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, NetSmartz Internet Safety for Adults provides parents, caregivers, and other adults with knowledge and tools to help safeguard youth online.

The Indiana Center for Prevention of Youth Abuse & Suicide provides NetSmartz digital safety education as a Community Education Partner with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and the Indiana Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

Navigating Digital Safety with Tweens and Teens helps parent and caregivers put common-sense rules in place to help their tweens and teens navigate online spaces safely. Parents will learn how to introduce sensitive topics in age-appropriate ways, empower their tweens and teens to make safe choices online, and help them create an online safety plan with their child. The session provides information on current risks youth may encounter online, conversation starters, family tech-rule ideas, and resources for reporting and support. Participants leave with practical strategies and confidence to support safe, positive digital experiences for their children.

Recommended for parents of youth ages 11-18 years of age.
